Queneau had been introduced to Ceccato, was intrigued by his work, and became his first French editor. Dingler and Ceccato corresponded extensively. Von Glasersfeld, having driven from Ireland to Italy across war-ravaged Europe, met Ceccato by accident, started working for him partially unpaid, and said that the meeting with the man he described as his friend and teacher had changed his life.
