Wilhelm Beer

Beer — his day-job a banker – collaborated with Mädler to produce unprecedentedly accurate maps of the Moon and Mars, the observations being made at Beer’s private observatory in Berlin. The composer Meyerbeer and the poet Michael Beer were his brothers.
